``all that time pretending someone else would come and save me from myself i can't be who you are Nick felt the air finally escape from his lungs as Audrey sat up. He was surprised to realise that he was relieved she was okay So, he guessed he was a little glad that she was okay. But nothing startled him like the next thing that happened. As Audrey pulled the hand which had gotten cut to her and wrapped it in her handkerchief. He hadn’t even really noticed that the hand was cut, but his skin tingled where she had touched it as he pulled his hand back. “Thanks” he mumbled, sitting down exhausted in one of the classroom chairs. So, he had to be no-where near as exhausted as Audrey, but that didn’t stop him from staying off his feet for now.
A sort of strange silence spread over the classroom. It wasn’t awkward at all, just silence. At least, it didn’t feel awkward to him, but he’d learnt before that sometimes girls were thinking the total opposite of what you thought they were. At least Alice had taught him that. In the silence, the sounds of the crowd still trying to figure out what happened in the hall came to his attention. His ‘inner angel’ if you will was almost screaming at him to get out there. After all, angels were originally guardians for humans, and since they had retained a sort of protective nature over them. Though there was also a person in here who still needed to be watched, and that was the only reason he was staying.
“Ahhh, but you’re forgetting she’s not a human Nick. She’s still a demon”
Bloody voice in his head. Humans called it a conscience. Nick called it a pain in the butt. Always thinking ‘rationally’. Well to hell with rationality, fat lot of good it had done him. All his life he’d been rational and now he was in a classroom in the human realm, alone with a particularly gorgeous demon and a pink handkerchief wrapped around his hand. He was fully aware of the absurdity of the situation.
Then, in a split second decision, three things happened. Nick got up from his chair, heading for the door. “I guess I better help out with the … you know … stuff out there” he said in explanation. As he turned his back to her, he heard the voice.
“Erm, if you don’t mind me asking…. Were you forced to marry Alice?”
Nick stopped dead in his tracks.
“Ah- you don’t have to answer that..”
“No, don’t worry.” Nick cut her off, “It’s what everybody’s wandering, even though they’re too stuck on tradition to ask” he said. “Uhhhh …” searching for where to begin, Nick decided to just tell the truth. After all, it was going to come out soon enough. “I wasn’t … forced per se into marrying Alice. I was asked. I have a choice, but none at the same time.” Nick sat back down, settling in for a lot of explaining, which he felt he somehow owed to Audrey. “I guess it would be the same in Hell court. But if Gloria asks you something, especially something with so much honour attached to it, you can’t really refuse” he shrugged, “Alice is like my sister, neither of us wanted this but … well duty calls” he rolled his eyes casually, fully aware that he was basically committing blasphemy by saying that.
“It’s not that much of a burden. It could be worse, even though Alice and I don’t love each other like that, we could despise each other.”
“Are you engaged?” he asked curiously.
ooc- now i need to get in the swing of playing Nick again! he's probably acting so different in this post! *stupid me!*

I feel so untouched; And I want you so much, That I just can't resist you Again. Audrey could not help cringing, as he made another attempt to leave. She sighed, watching, before her conscience let spill of what she was thinking, those words piercing her deep. Again she thought of why, did he want to leave. Was she that hideous that he wanted to leave her that much? Her fingers clutched onto the metallic handle, before deciding against it, not wanting to do what she usually did. She sighed a soft sigh, before forcing her feet, to plant itself on the ground, pushing her way up, fearing her limbs would give way, but in all, she managed to stand properly. Her seductive grays looked at the boy, from his position, as he started to open his mouth. Her ears perked up intently, wanting to hear his voice come out of those luscious lips, wanting to caress those lips- No. She couldn’t. He was engaged, and she, a predator to men. She bit her lip, softly, as his voice melted into her ears, her watchful eyes still on him.
“No, don’t worry.”
She watched as he spoke with ease, his voice soothing to her ears, as she watched him, from where she was at, leaning on the teacher’s table. Her breathes were steady and slow, in a normal pace, that voice, which she relied on, was gone, to leave her, she felt the weight of the world slowly lift off, as she forgot, what she was supposed to do, before this. Those pale fingers gripped on the teacher’s desk for support, as those grays looked at him, with innocence hidden beneath the curiousity. “I wasn’t … forced per se into marrying Alice. I was asked. I have a choice, but none at the same time.” None?Raising an eyebrow, she watched, confused by his play of words, listening in, as she stood straight, as if told to, before looking him in the eye, as if wanting to find out, whatever hidden messages he did not want to share with her. Audrey is as Audrey gets, that will never change. Her soft, thick lips formed into a thin straight line, as she heard his next few words, wondering how he was able to say what he did with ease. Wasn’t engagement, a big thing for those in Heaven Court? And here he was saying it like, it was just another mission he had to handle. Somehow, she felt her soft side pity Alice. “I guess it would be the same in Hell court. But if Gloria asks you something, especially something with so much honour attached to it, you can’t really refuse” I wouldn’t say the same for me….
I usually bend things out of my way…. “Alice is like my sister, neither of us wanted this but … well duty calls Comprehending slowly, that he wasn’t fully belonging to Alice, she inclined her head, before releasing a soft, unaudible sigh. Duty, was this what was so important to him? She knew how he loved his job and had been at it for years, but such slavery irked her, it made her feel more pitiful towards him, it was like the time, she broke Riley out of the Hell Court’s dungeon, where she was being held captive by some unknown guard. She watched him, wondering if he was yet another of her famous break out customers. “It’s not that much of a burden. It could be worse, even though Alice and I don’t love each other like that, we could despise each other.” “Not much of a burden? If you’re engaged with a person whom you don’t love, isn’t a burden to you, mind telling me what is?” Her eyes kept the tone on her voice clear, a curious tone, which had nothing against her sarcasm nor the usual trick she played in men. For now, she showed her soft side, something nobody had seen. What more, could she do, she was vulnerable at such circumstances, and this happened to be the first angel, who saved her from severe blood loss. “Are you engaged?” Slowly, as she comprehend on why he had to ask that question, she smirked, before slowly moving towards him, her voice coming out, in a slow tone. “Why, do you ask that? Did you perhaps, have taken a liking to me? Won’t Gloria hunt you down for that?” She giggled, somehow finding it fun teasing him. “I’m kidding…. Don’t worry though, I’m not engaged…” Her soft voice made her smirk wider, as she watched that handsome face cross her eyes, never leaving her sight. She took a small breath, before going back to square one, where the thought of him leaving crossed her pitiful mind. Slowly, her eyes looked at him in concern. “Why do you always seem to be in a rush, to leave? Well, besides the fact that you’re an angel and partly guardian to the humans…” Rolling her eyes, she looked at the further corner of her left, before saying in a disgusted tone. “Let me guess, Gloria’s orders, for you to keep working, while you’re on Earth?Or is it because, you want to get away from me?” Typical Angels...
Hmm...She sighed, before slowly making her way to where he was, bearing the pain, her fingers patted his cheek, before her smile came out, her lips moving in sequence to each word she utter. “I think its time, you take a break from work…” ooc: Naww! I think Nick sounds like Nick ((: I feel Audrey's gone out of the 'evil' side though.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
